Spanish Nationality

This service is intended for foreign citizens who wish to obtain Spanish nationality. Applicants should bear in mind that depending on their current nationality, they may be required to renounce their current nationality. Citizens from South America, Andorra, Equatorial Guinea, Philippines and the descendants of Sephardim Jews can have dual nationality.

This services includes:

  • Analysis and assessment of applicant.
  • Preparation and presentation of documents required in each particular case.

The application for Nationality is complicated and can take between 18 and 24 months before an answer is received from the Spanish authorities.

The documents required are as follows:

  • Birth certificate.
  • Criminal Record certificate from your home country.
  • Criminal record certificate issued by the Spanish authorities.
  • Certificate from your local Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) that you are registered.
  • Document to prove the time of legal residence in Spain.
  • If you are married to a Spanish citizen, marriage certificate issued by the local Civil Registry and Birth certificate of the Spanish spouse.
